Executive Director: Joy Hanner

Summary: Professional with 19 years of experience in non-profit management building faith-based, social service and business partnerships throughout Pennsylvania.  Joys background involves a variety of proven leadership and management skills and a compassion for others.  One of her favorite authors is Eleanor Roosevelt.  Ms. Roosevelt once said, "the purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for a newer and richer experience".  Joy is looking forward to the new, rich experience of serving others through Grace Ministries.     

Executive Director, N'central PA Chapter American Red Cross, Williamsport, PA

Tri-county jurisdictional area to include: Lycoming, Clinton and Tioga.  Responsible for employee and volunteer oversight and retention, board development, financial administration to support $400,000 budget, service delivery and public relations.

In addition to daily activites for the chapter, responded to various National Red Cross disaster events as a Public Information Officer in Baton Rouge, LA during Katrina and Public Affairs Specialist in Richmond, Va during Hurricane Isabel and PA during Hurricane Ivan.

Director, The Salvation Army, Horizon House, Lock Haven, PA         

Responsible for 24-bed county homeless shelter including staff/volunteer retention and training, implementation of program service to reduce cyclical homelessness amongst residents, financial administration to support $125,000 budget, public relations, administration of county HAP, FEMA and State Food Purchase Program. 

Field Representative, The Salvation Army, Philadelphia, PA 

Liaison between The Salvation Army and 60 rural communities in 11 counties in the Eastern PA region.  Responsible for the development, maintenance and refinement of the communities in assigned geographic areas. Implemented community awareness programs, public relations, fund-raising, delivery of services, United Way presentations, seasonal services for prisons and nursing homes.    

 

Volunteer Coordinator: Sharon Roberson

Summary: Professional with 6 years Social Work and Early Childhood development experience.  Sharon began her work with Grace Ministries as a volunteer.  After three months of providing Carereceiver transportation she was hired as the Volunteer Coodinator/Dispatcher.  Her role is to link a Carolina Neighbor with a Carereceiver.  This posiiton has given her great joy.  She has many opportunities to serve the Lord and give back to her community.       

Social worker IV,  Brunswick County Department of Social Services

Responsible for care of County foster children providing a safe environment, medical care and emotional well-being.  Goal was for reunification of parent and child based on professional evaluation through the judicial system.
